Jeanine Ione Jacobs

Jeanine Ione Jacobs, 77, of Antigo, died with her family by her side on Friday November 14, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born on January 31, 1937 to the late John Archer and Violet Fern Peterson. On October 23, 1953 she was united in marriage to Lee Jacobs. She attended Antigo High School. She worked as a cook at various area supper clubs including, Tesch's, Leffel's, Stimac's and the Blackjack, while also being employed at Peace Lutheran School as the food service manager for 43 years, retiring at age 75. Jeanine was always there with a listening ear, a caring smile, and gentle words so wise. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, survivors include 3 daughters, Cindra (Gilbert) Jensen of Birnamwood, Suzanne Enstrom of Gunnison, CO, Lorrie Jacobs of Middleton, WI, 2 sons, Roy (Cindy) Jacobs of Cambridge, WI, James (Melanie) Jacobs of Mosinee, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a sister Shirley Petersen of Ogdensburg, WI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold and John Dale Archer, an infant brother, her stepfather, Paul Peterson, and a son-in-law Todd Enstrom. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:30 AM, November 21 at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo. Reverend David Karolus and Vicar Daniel Bodin will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 until the service at the church. A private burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Jeanine's name. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family. Friends may visit online at www.strasserrollerfh.com.
