Jeanne Ellen Cook, of Pickerel, died Monday, Nov. 17 at Langlade Memorial Hospital in Antigo. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 21, 1922 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Archibald Willard Ellis and Clara Louise Alma Polzin. She married Roland Cook on Feb. 14, 1948 in Lily. He preceded her in death. She was a 1940 graduate of Pulaski High School in Milwaukee, and received her Registered Nursing degree from the Milwaukee School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse until her marriage. Mrs. Cook was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pickerel. She also belonged to Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Lance) Laabs of Green Bay; 3 sons, John (Barb) Cook of Pickerel, Mark (Teri) of Milwaukee, and Todd (Susie) of Kenosha; 5 grandchildren, Camron, Philip, Amy, Brennan, and Brady Cook. In addition to her husband, Ralph, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Ellis. The family extends a special thank you to her caregivers, Amy Cook, granddaughter, Marilyn Hartjes, Paula Schmidt, LaVonne Brooks, and Stacey Dennison.
