Jeffrey "Jeff" Michael Monk

Jeffrey Michael Monk, of Bryant, age 50 passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2021, at his home with his family at his side. Jeff was born on November 19th, 1970, in Wausau, WI to Percy and Johanna “Joan” (Jagler) Monk. He was challenged with health issues since birth and was able to enjoy life through his positive attitude, loving family, and friends. Jeff was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1991. He was a friend to many and had a unique way of making everyone he touched smile. Jeff worked at various local businesses over the years including Bob’s Standard and Lakeside Market, which he so enjoyed. He attended the Langlade County Healthcare Center and met the love of his life, Joyce Prasalowicz, who predeceased him in 2019. Jeff enjoyed traveling, watching movies, and listening to music, especially Dolly Parton. He was one of three sons of Percy and Joan and they all supported each other and stayed close. Every holiday was a family get together. Old experiences were renewed, and new stories added to the family discussions. In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his brothers: David J. Monk (wife Tammy) of Wausau, WI and Paul R. Monk (wife Jennifer) of Bryant, WI. Nephews: Steven D. Monk, Conner J. Monk (wife Hailey), George J. Monk, Paul J. Monk, and John Monk (wife Zoe). Great nephew: Parker Monk. Aunts and uncles: John W. Monk, Grace (Bernard) Deisinger, Alice (John) Vesely, Frank (Angie) Jagler and Mary Hellrood. Jeff was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Uncle Al Hellrood, and Aunts: Eva Borwig and Mary Wyveen. We will all miss Jeff and everything he contributed to our lives. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 7:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Chaplain David Guerrero officiating. A visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM. A private burial will follow at a later date at Bent Cemetery in Bryant. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hands with Heart and Jeff’s favorite caretaker Alan Bessette, as well as LeRoyer Hospice for their loving care.
