Jim Lund

Jim Lund, a lifelong Antigo resident, died November 23, 2008 in Salem, SD while on the road in his truck. He was 72 years old. He was born Dec. 9, 1935 in Bryant, WI, the son of the late Alton and Mabel (Diercks) Lund. On Oct. 1, 1982 he married Barbara (Schroeder). She survives.A 1953 graduate of Antigo High School, he owned and operated the OTR trucking company, Jim Lund Transport.He enjoyed motorcycling, car racing, and trucking. He belonged to the Elk's Club, and was a former member of the Antigo Stock Car Association. Jim shared his beautiful singing voice at many gatherings.In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by 2 daughters, Linda (Jim) Herciz of Muskego, and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Behm of Phlox; 1 stepdaughter Julie (Howard) Hoffmann of Athens; 2 sons, Pat (Shari) of Antigo, Shane (Jamie) of Antigo; 1 stepson Jeffrey (Cindy) Schroeder-Gresham; 1 brother, Richard (Betty) of Antigo; 3 grandchildren, Dustin and Sam Lund, Kate Herciz; 12 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Kaye Conrad.
