Joann B. Demain, age 82, of Antigo died Monday, December 26 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Demain was born on July 16, 1928 in Lac du Flambeau, WI to the late John Kajune and Anna (nee Mendenhall). She married Norman Popp, they later divorced. She later married Joseph Demain. Mr. Demain preceded her in death. Mrs. Demain was employed by Langlade Hospital in the housekeeping department until her retirement. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, fishing, her parakeets, and reading the Bible. She attended Christ Gospel Church. Survivors include 3 daughters; Karen Popp of Allegan, MI, Laurie Powell (special friend Romy Fleischman) of Antigo, and Patty (William) Hankins of Montello; a son Kenny (Joann) Popp of Baraboo; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; Romona Tassoul, Dawn Woods, and Yvonne Thornton. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Demain was preceded in death by a son Wayne Popp and a sister Juanita Mertens. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Christ Gospel Church. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 am until the service at the church. Pastor Gregory Dorsch will officiate. A memorial will be established in Mrs. Demain's name. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
