John "Jack" Grabowsky, age 84, of Antigo died Sunday, July 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on November 17, 1937 in Antigo to the late Walter and Malinda (Keen) Grabowsky. On July 17, 1965, Jack was united in marriage to Connie Graveen. She survives and resides in Antigo. Jack was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1955. He served in the US Army from 1960-1962. He was a firefighter with the City of Antigo Fire Department for 28 years and drove for RJ Hilger and Sons, Inc. for many years. Upon retirement, Jack continued to work independently shoveling snow, doing ice and snow removal off roofs, and installing antennas. He enjoyed playing cards and being with his family. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and being fun to be around. In addition to his wife, survivors include his children: Lisa Houdek of Bryant and Brian (Deena) Grabowsky of Antigo, 4 grandchildren: Garrett Grabowsky (significant other Mikkalyn Hafner), Montana Grabowsky (significant other Beau Schartner), Nikole Houdek (fiancé Mickey Morgan), Erika Houdek (significant other Alex Arrowood), a sister Elaine Singer of Manitowoc, and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by a son-in-law Randy Houdek, his siblings: Richard Grabowsky, Marie Hilger, Bill Grabowsky, Betty Duchrow, Irene Boettcher, and Jean Grabowsky. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 15 at 2:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Vicar Jennifer Sosinski will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the service at the funeral home.
