John "Jack" Spiegl

John "Jack" Kenneth Spiegl age 74, of Neva, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital. Jack was born on January 13, 1942 to the late John and Helen (Peterson) Spiegl. Jack was a graduate of Birnamwood High School class of 1959. On April 28, 1962, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Schroeder in Birnamwood. Jack worked in construction and was known for his attention to detail. He had many enjoyments including, playing baseball, cribbage, hunting, fishing, birdwatching, trapping, doing jigsaw puzzles and word puzzles. Survivors in addition to his wife Jeanne, include a daughter, Fran (Mark) Wanta of Wausau, 2 sons, John and Darrin both of Neva, , 4 grandchildren, Zach, Connor, Justin and Breely, 5 sisters, Sharon Spiegl of Antigo, Nancy (Fayez) Abu Hamdan of Amman Jordan, Patt Komar of Antigo, Joni (Denny) Elam of Antigo, Bonnie (Bartolo) Utrera of Milwaukee, a brother, Pete (Sandy) of Greenville, WI, his mother-in-law, Florence Schroeder of Schofield, 3 brothers-in-law, Jim (Rose) Schroeder of Wausau, Jack (Terri) Schroeder of Rhinelander, Jerry (Marie) Schroeder of Wausau, 3 sisters-in-law, Jane (Terry) Homolka of Mosinee, Lori (Fred) Bryden of Wausau, and Carla (Denny) Landrath of Wausau. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Audrey and Susan Spiegl, his father-in-law Herbert Schroeder, and a brother-in-law Larry Schroeder. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:00PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Donald Sprengler will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the service at the funeral home.
