John Scherer

John Paul Scherer, of Bryant, passed away on January 30, 2022, at the age of 72 at Copperleaf Memory Care in Schofield. John was born on December 9, 1949 in Milwaukee to the late Norman and Rachel (Naffin) Sherer. He attended high school in Milwaukee before serving in the U.S. Army. He worked as a factory worker for Johnson Coil, Perlick, and Amron. In 1974 he was united in marriage to Shirlee Hohensee. She survives. John enjoyed RC airplanes, trains, and cars as well as model railroading. He also enjoyed motorcycling and waterskiing in his spare time. In addition to his wife Shirlee, John is survived by a son Adam (Laurel) Scherer of Antigo, grandchildren Dustin Scherer and McKenzie Scherer both of Antigo, sisters Carolyn (Gordon) Peltonen of Milwaukee and Sally (Jerry) Thompson of Greenfield and sister-in-law Nancy Scherer. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brother Don Scherer. A memorial service for John will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Dick Kendall will officiate. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
