Jonnie Kay West

Jonnie Kay West of Antigo passed away on December 2, 2021 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital at the age of 79. Jonnie was born on October 4, 1942 in Sandusky, OH to the late John and Jeanne (Ondracek) Tradewell. She was a graduate of the Antigo High School class of 1961. On June 29, 1968, Jonnie was united in marriage to Richard “Rich” West at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Jonnie was a homemaker and also a bookkeeper for McNeil West. She enjoyed volunteering at St. John Catholic Church and school and the nursing home. She was a Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan, was a trivia buff, enjoyed watching the game show network, reading mysteries, and bowling. Jonnie was a wonderful cook who loved hosting weekly dinners for her children and grandchildren. Above all, her family and grandchildren were her greatest joy. In addition to her husband Rich, Jonnie is survived by children; Deb (Mark) Jaques of Allenton, Dave (Becky) West of Antigo, Donna (Andy) Krueger of Antigo, and Diana (Justin) Brittenham of Antigo, grandchildren; Katie and Ryan Jaques, Kyle, Lizzy, and Ava West, Chris, Kailee, and Michael Krueger, Ian, Alex, and Blake Brittenham, and Ryan (fiancé Caroline Roller) and Adam Schmidt, sisters: Judy (Doug) Sylfest of Antigo, JoAnn Berndt of Appleton, Jane (Bill) Grose of Plover, Wes (Cindy) Tradewell of Antigo, John Tradewell, Jr. of St. Paul, MN, sisters-in-law; Virginia (Jim) Hanson of Green Bay, Charlotte (Rod) Ostrowski of Belgium, WI, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jonnie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Leon “Lefty” Berndt. A Funeral Mass for Jonnie will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church with Father Charles Hoffmann officiating. A visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Queen of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Jonnie’s name will be established.
