Joyce A. Kennedy

Joyce Arnold Kennedy, age 77, of Deerbrook, WI and Fort Myers, FL died peacefully Monday at her home on Long Lake in Deerbrook after a short battle with cancer. Joyce was born September 22, 1932 in Madison, WI to the late Irving and Ethel (McCaughey) Arnold. Mrs. Kennedy graduated from Madison East High School and then University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 1954, where he met her husband, Irving Kennedy. They were united in marriage on August 29, 1954 in Madison, WI.Joyce began her teaching career at Lowell Elementary School in Madison, WI. She liked to say that she spent 30 years at Lowell and never got out of the 1st grade. Following her retirement from Lowell, Joyce and Irv enjoyed their time at Long Lake near Kempster, WI and Pine Ridge in Fort Myers, FL. Joyce volunteered at Lee Memorial Hospital, was very active in writing the Pine Ridge community newsletter, and was a member of All Souls Episcopal Church in Fort Myers. She was also a member of St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Antigo.Survivors include 2 sons Jeff (Cara) of Burnsville, MN and Jay (Melissa) of Oxford, PA; 6 grandchildren Mark and Lindsey Reichwein, Erin (Andrew) Fiege, and Kristen, Ryan and Matthew Kennedy; and a sister Arlene (Robert) Finley of Middleton, WI.Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 3 brothers Glenn, Rodney, Claire; and a sister Evelyn.Our thanks to LeRoyer Hospice of Antigo for their care and support.
