Joyce Benishek

Joyce A. Benishek, age 87, of Antigo died Mon., June 1 at Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. Joyce was born July 30, 1921 to the late Arthur and Addis (Turney) Rammer. She married Gerald Benishek October 16, 1942 in Lincoln, NE., he survives.Joyce graduated from Antigo High School in 1939. She worked as a civilian in the Army Air Corp and later worked as a clerk at Vosmek's Drug Store.Joyce was an avid gardener, volunteered delivering meals-on-wheels and for the American Red Cross and was a volunteer grandmother for the Antigo Unified School District, was a PTA member at Crestwood School, enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and body recall classes.In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by a daughter Toni (Jim) Thomas of Antigo and a son John (Jennifer) Benishek of Deerbrook; 5 grandchildren Emily Benishek of Rhinelander and Laura Benishek of Deerbrook, Jeff (Angela) Thomas Sun Prairie, Jaren (Jennifer) Thomas of Wauwatosa, Seth (Katie) Thomas of Wauwatosa; a great grandson Xander Thomas of Sun Prairie; 3 sisters Phyllis Knapp of Oconomowoc, Patricia Blahnik of Merrill, and Peg (James) Ballard of Dayton, OH; 2 brothers Bill (Shirley) Rammer of Great Falls, MT and Mike (Nancy) Rammer of Oshkosh, WI; 2 sister-in-laws Vera Rammer of Milwaukee and Ginny Rammer of Merrill.Joyce was preceded in death by a sister Mary Johnson and 2 brothers Tom and Jim Rammer.
