Joyce Sharon

October 27, 1931 — April 21, 2025

It is with much sadness, love and respect that our family announces the passing of our mom, Joyce Sharon, Monday April 21, 2025, under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and Rosalia Gardens, with family at her bedside.

Born in Eland, WI, October 27, 1931 to Werner and Laura (Buss) Wolfinger, she was united in marriage to Bob Sharon on June 18th, 1949. Together they raised 10 children while owning and operating Sharon Motors Corp in Antigo.

Graduating valedictorian of the Birnamwood High School class of 1949, her love of math along with accounting classes prepared her for her bookkeeping role in the family business.

She was an active member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church, joining the Rosary Society at the age of 17, where she at times served as president and treasurer, continuing as treasurer up until the group disbanded in 2021.

Her love of travel took her to many countries but her most treasured trip was to the Holy Land. She frequently said that the places she has yet to see, she will be able to see in the next life. She always took great pleasure in hearing about the travels of others in the family.

Grandma “Gert” never failed to timely acknowledge each family member’s birthday with a card and gift.

Survivors also include numerous much loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Jim Sharon and wife Jean, sister Alice and husband Bob Steebs, sister Dorothy and husband John Yaeger, sister Kay and husband Dave Norrbom, nephews Steve and David Sharon, niece Laura Yaeger and granddaughter Jennifer Schmidt.

Mom was the last surviving member of her siblings and their spouses, all of whom she dearly missed.

After 17 years, mom and dad will be forever reunited.
