Judy A. Sylfest passed away on April 6, 2023 at Rosalia Gardens under the care of their staff and LeRoyer Hospice.
Judy was born on September 17, 1943 and raised in Antigo by her parents John and Jeanne Tradewell.
Judy graduated from Antigo High School in 1962. She went on to take printing and typing courses at the technical college.
In September of 1979, she was united in marriage to Milo “Doug” Sylfest. He survives.
She worked as a waitress at Black Jack and as a civil servant at the radar base.
Judy enjoyed bowling, golfing, gambling, and listening to polka music. She was a great baker, known for her famous brownies. She had quite the bit of spice to her. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at the Antigo Elementary Schools.
In addition to her husband Doug, Judy is survived by step children Mike (Sandy) Sylfest of Appleton and Bruce (Tammy) Sylfest of Elton, grandchildren, Jamie (Jessica) Sylfest, Jesse (Thambose) Sylfest and Susie Elst, great grandchildren, Grayson, Xavier, Rowan, and Samantha, siblings, JoAnn Berndt of Appleton, Jane (Bill) Grose of Plover, Wes (Cindy) Tradewell of Antigo, and John Tradewell Jr. of St. Paul, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by sisters Jonnie West and Mary Wetzel and brothers, Bill Ruf Jr. “Harry” and James “Moxie” Ruf
A funeral service for Judy will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
Judy’s family would like to extend a thank you to the loving care provided by the staff of Rosalia Gardens and LeRoyer Hospice during this most difficult time. Judy’s family is also very grateful to Deb Jaques, Sandy and Mike Sylfest, and the team of Hands with Heart for the loving care they gave to her throughout her illness. Also a special thank you to her close friends who spent time with her.
