Karen Ann Ralph, age 71, of Pearson died at her home on June 21, 2023. Karen was born on September 26, 1951 in Phillips, WI to the late Kenneth and Leatrice (Brabender) Jorgensen.
The family moved to Antigo where Karen attended West Elementary and graduated from Antigo High School in 1969. She then attended UW Stout, studying home economics.
On August 3, 1974, Karen was united in marriage to John Ralph at Antigo Congregational Church in with Reverend Richard Hetzel officiating.
Karen was employed over the years primarily as a cook for various restaurants, childcare facilities, nursing homes. She was also employed as a retail clerk at J & P Liquidators.
Karen was a talented seamstress, created jewelry, and painted. She was a volunteer for children's art programs. Karen also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, pontoon rides, trap shooting, and participating in Buckskin Rendezvous events with John. She also enjoyed bowling and shooting pool.
Karen had a love for travel and venturing up to Bayfield, WI every year with her mother for the Apple Festival. The trip included various stops along the way at casinos.
She and John had a shared love of cats, dogs, and the Green Bay Packers.
Karen was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir, and volunteered in children's programs.
Through many health challenges Karen kept a positive outlook and her strong faith.
Survivors in addition to her husband, John, include her son, Jason (Carrie) Ralph of Milton, WI, her sister Patti (Dannie) Hilger of Antigo, a brother Carl (Maureen) Jorgensen of Davenport, IA, a nephew Brian (Bobbi Jo) Jorgensen, and nieces: Jamie (Tom) Rich, Lea (Mike) Hanke, and Amanda (Chris) Gabryszek.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Curtis Jorgensen, and his wife Trudy.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 25 at 1:00 PM at Faith United Church of Christ with visitation from noon until the service at the church. Reverend Wes Jedras will officiate.
Karen's family extends a special thank you to the Kidney Care Dialysis team, Pickerel Fire And Rescue, Gretchen Tolsma, various traveling healthcare providers, especially Heather and Lynn, and healthcare providers at Aspirus for the care and support given to Karen and her family.
