Katharina Walter

Katharina Walter, of rural Antigo, died Monday, August 17, 2015 at Langlade Hospital. She was 88 years old. She was born March 8, 1927 in the former Yugoslavia, daughter of the late Anton and Irma (Ples) Sonnheim. She married Josef Walter in Austria in 1943, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2007. She previously resided in Romania, Austria, Australia, and Milwaukee before moving to Antigo. She was employed in auto factories, and also worked as a sales clerk at a Salvation Army store in Milwaukee. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 19 at 9:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Omer Kelly will officiate. Interment will be at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
