Ken Schroepfer died peacefully at home on January 1, 2026 under the care of his loving wife Gail and Compassus Care Hospice of Rhinelander.
He was born July 13, 1960 in Antigo, the son of Leon and Nancy (Remington) Schroepfer. He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1978. On August 10, 1991, he was united in marriage to Gail Koss.
Ken was employed at Gallenberg Equipment, TSI Power, and Parsons of Antigo. Ken also had a business, Imagine Personal Art, spreading his creative painting artwork in Langlade County and beyond. For 40 years, Ken trained and taught in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do. He received his seventh-degree black belt from North Central Black Belt Academy in Shawano. Ken always had a joke to share. He was always thinking of the next cool project to create. He always had a pen in his pocket for drawings on napkins or for drawing temporary tattoos for children with an audience watching.
In addition to his wife Gail, Ken is survived by his siblings; Jim (Teresa) Schroepfer of Antigo, Julie (Jeff) Zalewski of Antigo, Don (Judy) Schroepfer of Antigo, Jeanne (Jacques Daniel) Zuiches of Shawano, and Jerry Schroepfer of Owatonna, MN, father-in-law; Steve Koss, siblings-in-law; Debra (John) Wolter of Antigo, Lynn (Jay) Arrowood of Antigo, Renee (Mike) Heiny of Antigo, Steve Jr. (Angie) Koss of Poynette, Greg Koss of Antigo, and Kevin (Erik Bower) Koss of Yorkville, CA. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Mary Schroepfer, mother-in-law Grace Koss, and Goddaughter Molly Koss. Ken always treasured his canine kids: Zeus, Millie, Cuddles, Spinks and Spook who cheerfully greeted him in heaven with wagging tails.
A memorial Mass for Ken will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 1:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church with Father Kamal Gopu and Father Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and again before the service on Saturday at the church from 11:00 AM until the service.
