Kenneth "Spider" John Jicha

Kenneth John “Spider” Jicha, age 86, of Antigo died July 6, 2022 at Cloverleaf Terrace in Birnamwood. Ken was born October 14, 1935 in Antigo to the late Ernest and Mary (McNeil) Jicha. On November 5,1956, Ken was united in marriage to Mary Lou Schneider. She preceded him in death June 20, 2009. Ken was employed as a custodian for Langlade County working in the courthouse and sheriff’s department. Ken also worked for many years as an electrician for Tradewell Construction and McNeil-West Construction. Ken served in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1954-55. Ken especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. In his retirement he kept busy with word searches, sitting on the sun deck, car rides, and creating latch hook rugs, which earned him the nickname “The Happy Hooker”. Survivors include his 2 children: Randall J. Jicha of Antigo and Pamela Jo (Roger) Jankowski of Antigo, grandchildren: Jami Lex (husband Howard Barker), Jordan (Brianna) Jankowski, Jesse Jankowski (significant other, Laurissa Belott), and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Ken was preceded in death by his siblings: Charlie, Jim, Phyllis, and a great grandson Teddy. In accordance with Ken’s wishes, no services will be held.
