Kleofash "Kleo" Landowski

Kleofash “Kleo” Landowski, 84, of Antigo, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 peacefully at his home in Antigo.

Kleo was born on May 15, 1940, in Ringle, the youngest child of the late John and Mary (Glodowski) Landowski.

Kleo proudly served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962, stationed aboard the USS Yorktown (CVS-10) in Long Beach, California. During his service, he traveled to various locations, including Japan and Singapore. He cherished the moments spent on deck, enjoying his coffee while watching the peaceful waters fade and appear.

Following his time in the Navy, Kleo married JoAnn Dallman on October 17, 1964, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent.

He worked in Milwaukee at Wisconsin Motors for years before moving to Antigo in 1976. He held various positions working for the City of Antigo and retiring in 1998. Kleo was an active member and volunteer for St John's Catholic Church, Antigo, taking great pride in his cheese curd stand. He enjoyed volunteering at the local food pantry, optimist club and bell ringing. Kleo’s hobbies included deer hunting, fishing, remodeling, work projects, and gardening. He especially enjoyed watching his grandkids at their sporting events and taking casino trips with his wife, and his nephew and spouse (Alfred and Diane King).

Kleo is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Antigo; three children, Dawn O’Nan of Antigo; Dean Landowski of Watertown and his son Max Landowski; DeAnn Kmosena of Wausau and her children Chase Kmosena and Kade Kmosena; sister, Marie Breitenstein; brother-in-law, Jack Dallman and special nephew, Alfred King; and many nieces, and nephews.

Kleo was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Edward, Joseph, Ludwig, Sylvester and Dennis Landowski and sisters: Wanda, Agnes, Leona, Isabelle, Elizabeth, Natalie and Frances.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at St John's Catholic Church, Antigo. Father Kamel Gopu will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9 AM until the time of service at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Langlade Hospital, Antigo for their wonderful care given to Kleo over the past few months.
