Lalie Cunningham, age 94, died Wed., Jan. 4, 2012 at her daughter's home in Wausau. She was under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice. She was born June 28, 1917 in the Kent area of Langlade County, to the late Edward and Elizabeth Arrowood. She married John Cunningham on June 8, 1937 in Antigo, and he preceded her in death in Oct. 1984. She was a homemaker, raising her family in Kent. She moved to Athens in 1988, and most recently resided in Wausau. Mrs. Cunningham was a former member of Bible Baptist Church in Antigo, and had been attending Wausau Bible Church more recently. She enjoyed reading the Bible. She wrote poetry, and loved to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked working on her crossword puzzles and enjoyed the companionship of Suzie the dog and Buffy the cat. Survivors include 4 daughters, Doris (Floyd) Burkhart of Bryant, Gail (John) Priebe of Aniwa, Rosalyn Cunningham of Wausau, and Virginia (Allan) Endres of Athens; 2 sons, Frank (Janice) Cunningham of Hayward and Arthur Cunningham of Valdosta, GA; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law Larry Salyers of Franklin Furnace, OH and a daughter-in-law Judy Cunningham of Rancho Santa Fe, CA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Ruth Cunningham and Elaine Salyers; 2 sons, Edward and Alan Cunningham; a grandson, Steven Priebe; and a brother, Bradley Arrowood. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat. at First Baptist Church, 414 Eckart Street in Antigo, with Rev. Dennis Clark officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-11 Sat. at the church. Interment will take place at Bent Cemetery in Bryant.
