Lana Jalowiec

Lana Jalowiec, formerly of Antigo, died June 28, 2009 at her home in Santa Fe, NM after a courageous battle against cancer. She was 60 years oldShe was born in Kewaunee on Aug. 29, 1948, daughter of the late Elmer and Doris (Kittel) Pilgrim. She married Frank Jalowiec on July 1, 1967, and they later divorced.Ms. Jalowiec grew up in Kewaunee, and graduated from Kewaunee High School. After marriage, she lived in Nebraska with her family, and later returned to Wisconsin. She worked as a homemaker, and was also employed at the Antigo Walmart. In 2006, she and her sister Shirley moved to New Mexico, where Ms. Jalowiec continued working for Walmart, and later Eldorado Supermarket. She will be remembered for her love of children and the time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed travelling and keeping busy.Ms. Jalowiec had been a member of Peace Lutheran Church.Survivors include a daughter, Sheila (Dan) Rine of Bryant; a son, Michael of Antigo; 4 sisters, Shirley Pilgrim of Santa Fe, NM; Charlotte (Victor) Marshek of Brillion, Beverly (Gary) Frank of Denmark, WI, and LuAnn (Earl) Krueger of Brillion; a brother, John (Donna) Pilgrim of Luxemburg, WI; and 2 grandchildren, Rachel and Lauren Rine of Bryant. Ms. Jalowiec was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Joan Abts.
