Larry L. Schabo

Larry Leonard Schabo, age 70, died at his home in Pickerel on Wednesday March 6, 2013. He was born October 25, 1942 in Appleton, son of the late Robert and Gladys (DeWall) Schabo. He married Laurie Pennings, and they later divorced but remained friends. In 1997, he married Terri Schuh by the lake at their Pickerel home. Mr. Schabo was a graduate of Appleton West High School. He lived in Appleton and was employed at Miller Electric until his retirement. During his working years, he enjoyed spending vacation time in Pickerel, and after retiring he made the area his permanent home. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He also liked to work with his hands, house painting and woodworking. Survivors, in addition to his wife Terri Schabo, include 2 daughters, Jodi (Al) Bowers of Kaukauna, and Nikki (Rob) Forster of Kaukauna; a son, Kevin Schabo of Appleton; his friend and the mother of his children, Laurie Latimer; 4 grandchildren, Bo and Bryce Bowers, and Acelyn and Nevea Forster; a sister, Carol (Fran) Sturm of Appleton; 4 brothers, Don (Pat) Schabo of Appleton, Bob (Judy) Schabo of Appleton, and Bill (Pam) Schabo of Kaukauna; a stepdaughter, Jamie (Joe) Steliga of Wittenberg; and 2 step-grandchildren, Seth and Ethan Steliga. A Funeral Mass will take place at noon on Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pickerel with Fr. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Visitation will be 10-noon Saturday at the church. Burial will take place on a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery.
