Larry Loren Marmes Sr.

August 11, 1942 — November 20, 2022

Larry Marmes Sr., lifelong resident of Antigo, passed away at his home on November 20, 2022, at the age 80. He was under the care of his family, Hands with Hearts, and LeRoyer Hospice.


Larry was born on August 11, 1942, in Fond du Lac to the late Peter Joseph and Marie Dorothy (Clay) Marmes.


He worked as a self-employed painting contractor and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting and an occassional trip to northern Wisconsin. A founding member of the Antigo Trout Unlimited and member for 44 years. He enjoyed summer softball playing in the old timer’s league.


Larry married Joanne Lindemann in 1965, they had three sons and were later divorced. Larry also was accompanied in life by a special friend Kathryn Klimek.


Larry is survived by sons, Larry Jr. (Leigh) of Neenah, Timothy (Diane) of Sheboygan, and Terry (friend,

Sue) of Wausau, siblings, Pat of Antigo, John of Antigo, Jerome of Antigo, and Mary Kay of Oshkosh,

grandchildren Aleigha (Taryn) Clark of Oshkosh, Ryan Marmes of Menasha, Kevin, and Troy (Sarha) Cesar of Sheboygan.


In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by brothers Tom and Peter.


A visitation for Larry will take place at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26, 2022

from 1:00 to 4:30. A celebration of Larry’s life will follow at the Lily Sno-Bird Clubhouse.
