Lawrence Henry Waite

Lawrence Henry Waite, age 89, of the Town of Polar died at his home Saturday, September 3, 2016 under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. Larry was born March 21, 1927 in the Town of Polar to the late Henry and Bertha (Gruenberg) Waite. On June 9, 1962 he was united in marriage to Rosalie Taylor. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2014. Larry was a graduate of Antigo High School. Following high school he served in the US Army. He then attended college at Walla Walla University in College Place, WA. He later returned to Polar and taught for many years at the Antigo High School in the industrial arts department. He continued woodworking and automotive tinkering after retirement. Larry also enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. Survivors include 3 sons, Terry (Didget) of Vancouver, WA, Kevin (Loree) of Walla Walla, WA, and Michael (Heather) of Polar, 6 grandchildren, Shayne Waite, Haylea Bush, Twristan Waite, Amanda Waite, Kalli Waite, Landon Waite, and a great grandchild Austin Waite. In addition to his wife, Larry was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Beatrice Waite, Virginia Halama, Althea Waite and a brother Russel Waite. In accordance with his wishes, private services will be held. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
