Laymon Wesley Meeks “Dub”, of Antigo, formerly of Waukegan, IL, passed away at home on October 21, 2024 at the age of 77.
Dub was born on April 10, 1947 in Antigo to the late Laymon E. and Laura M. (Stutzman) Meeks.
Dub attended Antigo High School. He worked as a union steel worker and as a licensed journeyman autobody technician. He had a talent for painting, especially when it came to autobody work. He also enjoyed carpentry as a hobby.
Dub is survived by daughter, Michele (Todd) Marshall of Gleason, son, Jason (Nikki Fields) Meeks of Stevens Point, grandchildren, Nikole (Dillon) Wild of Bryant, Chelsie (Aaron) Houdek of Bryant, and Tim Marshall of Gleason, great grandchildren, Brinley and Bow Wild, sisters, Linda (Harlan) Pilon of Waukesha and Peg Blunt of Savanna, TN many nieces, nephews, and his beloved cats Richard and Tommy.
In addition to his parents, Dub was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Meeks, Lawrences Meeks, Leland Meeks, Lonnie Meeks, and Leroy Meeks, sisters Pay Saylor, Dolores (Jim) O’Riley, and Carol Meeks.
In accordance with Dub’s wishes, no services will be held. A private burial will take place at Langlade Cemetery.
