Linda Louise Depies

October 15, 1953 — November 23, 2025

Linda Depies was called home to the Lord at the age of 72, surrounded by her family and the peace of God’s promise of eternal life. She was under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.

What makes this obituary meaningful is that Linda wrote much of it herself. Sharing her reflections of a life blessed by faith was a gift given to those she leaves behind.

Don’t grieve for me. “Everyone who believes in Him will not parish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

I tried to follow the paths God made for me. My life’s been full of many blessings from my mother Rita, my dad Bob and my brother Dan, my other brother Duane I did not meet for he left this world before he was born. I went to St. Mary Catholic grade school Lake Church, from there I went to Cedar Grove High School, after that I went to Milwaukee to learn about computers, and I have been working with computers ever since. I met Terry at a dance and on March 1, 1975 we were married and the next day we left to go to our farm in Bear Creek, WI. We were blessed again with our 2 boys. They were born in New London Hospital. It was such a joy to be able to be with them as they were growing up and now with their families. Shawn was born on May 13, 1981. Now he has a family of his own and they are living in the country. He married Heidi and they have 3 children; Bryson, Emberli, and Gatlin. Kevin was born on January 11, 1983, his family is also living in the country. He married Danielle and they have a son Dane. There were also many good friends God put along my path. They brought happiness to my life that can’t be bought. I have learned “not to love the world or the things in the world” (1 John 2:15-17), they don’t make you happy. We “have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us”. (Romans 12:6), to exercise them at home and for others brought me great joy.

Love one another as I have loved you, maybe better than I did. God loves us the best. (John 13:34-35)

Linda had a remarkable gift for building relationships. Many came to know Linda through her time working at Peace Lutheran and working and volunteering for the hospital. She made people feel cared for and her kindness and smile left lasting impressions on those she met. She also was generous with her time and enjoyed spending it with the elderly. She would be the first to offer a ride to someone in need or just share a conversation. Linda also had a deep appreciation for Veterans and held a strong commitment to honoring their service. She proudly served as a guardian for the Honor Flight and served as the American Legion Auxiliary President. Linda was known for being an excellent cook, cooking with ingredients from her own vegetable garden. She was also a member of St. Jospeh Holy Family in Phlox and served as the president of the Christian Mothers Group. She was also a lifelong FFA Alumni and was influential in establishing the greenhouse at the high school.
