Lois Marie Mytas

Lois Marie Mytas of Antigo passed away on November 21, 2023 at Eastview Health and Rehab at the age of 70.

Lois Marie was born on June 24, 1953 in Vancouver B.C. to Dorothy (Schleimer) and the late Rev. Eldor Bickel.

Lois Marie graduated from Everett High School in Lansing, MI and went on to attend Concordia Teachers College in Ann Arbor. She taught elementary school in various communities including Flint, MI, Fort Wayne, IN, East Troy, WI, and Peace Lutheran School in Antigo.

On November 23, 1996, Lois Marie was united in marriage to Neil Mytas at Peace Lutheran Church. He survives. The couple lovingly opened their home and hearts to fostering over 20 children.

Lois Marie was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.

She was an athlete in her younger years and pitched softball. She enjoyed cross stitch, being with friends and family and especially loved being a wife and mother.

In addition to her mother and husband, Lois Marie is survived by a son Dominick Mytas of Antigo, sisters Marjorie (Gary) Janetzke, Kathryn (David) Wilde, and Miriam (Keith) Haney, brothers Nathan (Julie) Bickel, Jonathon (Susan) Bickel, and Timothy (Pamela) Bickel, a sister-in-law Christine Bickel, many members of the Mytas family and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Lois Marie was preceded in death by a brother David Bickel.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 noon at Peace Lutheran Church. Reverend Jared Fenske will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Monday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 until the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Bohemian Cemetery.
