Lola J. Johnson, age 94 of Antigo died Sunday at Homme Home in Wittenberg.Lola was born January 28, 1915 in Winneconne to the late Henry and Elsie (Butts) Neimuth. She graduated from Omro High School, attended Langlade County Normal School in Antigo, WI, graduated from Oshkosh State Teacher's College and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Mrs. Johnson taught elementary school at Golden Hill State Graded in New London and Sunnyside State Graded in Antigo.On September 15, 1940 she married Lawrence C. Johnson, Sr. at Evangelical and Reformed Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1978. After raising five children, she returned to teaching and taught at Ferndale State Graded School and then as first grade teacher at Pleasant View Elementary School until her retirement in 1978. Mrs. Johnson was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Antigo, where she was church organist and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member and past president of Langlade County Retired Teacher's Association. She is survived by a son Douglas (Linda) Johnson of Deerbrook; 2 daughters; Lolita (Thomas) McKinnon of Antigo, and Karen (Henry) Gregersen of Neenah; a daughter-in-law Sheila Johnson of Deerbrook; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; a brother Leland Niemuth of Cambellsport, WI; a sister Eleanor Fietz of Janesville, WI; 2 sisters-in-law Betty Baum of Watertown, WI and Marjorie Johnson of King, WI. In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by 2 sons; Dennis C. Johnson and Lawrence C. Johnson, Jr., a grandson; Steven Johnson; a sister; Carol Baum; 3 brothers; Raymond, Burton and Roger. Also preceding her in death were twin sisters Margaret and Marilyn and a brother Charles, all who died in infancy.
