Lorraine Mae (Novak) Priebe, 82, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo, WI. Lorraine was born on December 5, 1928 in Antigo, WI to Laddie and Mildred (Klapste) Novak. She married Arnold John Priebe on August 6, 1946 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Deerbrook, WI. Together they ran a dairy farm and raised honey bees for many years. In 1970 they moved to Belmont, WI where Arnie ran Belmont Equipment and Lorraine worked for General Telephone in Dodgeville, WI. She later worked for Wisconsin Power and Light in Mineral Point and Platteville. She retired in 1990. Lorraine was a member of Apostle's Lutheran Church in Platteville, WI. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her 5 children: Fred (Bonnie) Priebe, John (Gail) Priebe, Jim (Jane) Priebe, Shirley (Frank) Sleeter, and Millie (Terry) Janisch; 11 grandchildren: Paul (Julie) Priebe, Katie (Joe) O'Kelley, Anna (Luke) Chaney, Luke (Tricia) Priebe, Joe (Angie) Priebe, Lynn Sasman, Mark Priebe, Jenny (Brian) Holmes, Heather (Paul) Daley, Daniel (Lisa) Janisch, and Craig (Michelle) Janisch; 10 great grandchildren: Benji and Collin O'Kelley, Ethan, Alex, and Benjamin Chaney, Jonas, Asher, and Avonlea Priebe, Jacob Sasman, and Connor Janisch; a brother, Dale (Janice) Novak; a nephew, Allen Novak; and a niece, Debbie Burkhart. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 18, 2010; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Andrew and Anna (Hoffman) Priebe; and a grandson, Steven Priebe. A funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Pickerel, with Rev. Michael Mathey officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Bent Cemetery in Bryant. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to all the staff at Manor Care in Platteville, WI and Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo, WI for their wonderful care. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests memorials be made to Apostle's Lutheran Church of Platteville, Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation of Antigo, or a charity of your choice. Memorials may be sent to Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, care of Lorraine Priebe Family.
