Lorraine Marie Wheeler

Lorraine Marie Wheeler, age 98, of Antigo died Saturday August 14, 2021 under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and the staff at The Bay at Garden View. Lorraine was born on July 6, 1923 in Polar to the late Alexius and Elsa (Riemer) Kolpack. On May 22, 1943 she was united in marriage to Archie Wheeler at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar. He preceded her in death. In addition to being a homemaker, Lorraine worked at McLellan’s, Club 77, and Jac’s Club. Lorraine was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the church choir. She was also involved in the Mary Martha Society and Loyal and Townline Homemaker’s Club. She loved all crafting and won many blue ribbons at the fair for her crafting. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cooking for her family. Lorraine especially loved all her family, grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren. Lorraine is survived by daughters; Beverly (David) Golbach of Antigo, Karen McKinney of New Berlin, and Pamela (Vern) Emmer of Antigo, son; James (Lynn) Wheeler of Antigo, sisters; Joan Labbus and Maxine Baseley, brothers; Rueben (Lucille) Kolpack and Milton Kolpack, grandchildren; Jeff (Patricia) Golbach, Craig (Steve) Golbach, Edward Golbach, Scott (Susan) Gruenberg, Michele(Marc) Suputo, Mark McKinney, Matthew (Heather) McKinney, Michael (Jessie) McKinney, Heidi (Maggie) Aros-Zielinski, Jason (friend Amanda) Wheeler, Tiffany (Clayton) Luedtke, Joseph (Kimberly) Emmer, Jay (Jamie) Emmer, and Kyle (Katie) Emmer, 28 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law; Marge Kolpack,as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters; Renata Lucht, Adeline Kelm, and Doris Norem, brothers; Alex Kolpack, Edwin Kolpack, Norman Kolpack, and Lloyd Kolpack, sons-in-law; Larry Gruenberg and Bernard McKinney, and great granddaughter Courtney McKinney. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. We especially wish to thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for taking Mom home to Heaven as Mom always put her Savior first in her life and then her family-especially all the grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. A special thanks also goes out to all the staff and residents of The Bay at Garden View, who so lovingly called her grandma. We also want to thank LeRoyer Hospice who helped mom and the family through her final journey home.
