Louis Steve Kolisar (Duke) died Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Evergreen Terrace in Antigo under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 81 years old. He was born September 3, 1938 in California, son of the late Louis John and Victoria (Vrotny) Kolisar. In 1955 Duke graduated from John Marshal High school in Los Angeles, CA and joined the US Navy in 1956. He served for 6 years as a Radar man aboard the USS Whetstone. He made many trips across the Pacific to Tokyo, Japan, Philippines and Hawaiian Islands. He was involved in the 1962 Nuclear tests in the Pacific. He resided in Green Valley, CA, and worked as an aircraft mechanic / supervisor for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. Skunkworks Div. in Palmdale Ca. for 53 years until his retirement. He worked on the U-2, SR-71, F-117, L-1011, F-22 and was involved in many other test development programs. Duke spent his last 3 years living in Antigo WI. Living at Evergreen Terrace where he enjoyed many activities. His favorite things were working out (exercising), He loved Oldies, Jazz, Classic cars, attending community events like Music in the Park, The Volm Theater, Car Shows and the EAA shows. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include 3 children, Christine (Ron) Rohe of White Lake, WI, Rebecca Tiseo of Las Vegas, NV, Robert Picanzo of NV; a sister, Margaret Anne Nielson of Tucson, AZ; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial service for Louis will take place on a later date. "Fair winds and following seas... "
