Lua March Souza

Lua March Souza passed away Sunday at Langalde Hospital due to complications of arthrogryposis with underlying undiagnosed causes. Lua was born March 15, 2014 to Thiago and Felicia (Messer) Souza in Waupaca, WI. Her name, Lua, meaning moon was perfectly chosen for her as she lit the darkness and reflected pure goodness. Her first three months, Lua was cared for at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee by a special team of caring NICU nurses. Her family also cared for her during this time. She was able to be at home for the last 4 months surrounded by loving friends and family. During this time she and her big sister formed a true bond. Lua loved to be outside, going for walks and being in water. She enjoyed the world around her and her expressive eyes and alertness made that evident. Through her eyes she captivated everyone's heart. She is survived by her parents Thiago and Felicia of Antigo, a sister May Luzia Souza at home, maternal grandparents, Marty and Chris Messer of Bryant, maternal great grandmothers Dixie Lorraine Messer of Antigo and Eileen Watson of Greenville, paternal grandparents, Leo and Maze` Souza of Porto Seguro, Bahai, Brazil, paternal great grandparents, Leo and Luzia Souza, maternal aunts and uncles, Shane and Courtney Messer, Crystal and Dale Kindle, paternal aunts and uncles, Franklin and Ramayana Souza, Camila and Reneato Souza, Leonardo and Uyinnie, and many great aunts, uncles and cousins. As a precious gift from God, Lua touched so many lives near and far. Her love and way of bringing joy and hope to all who knew her has left this world a better place. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 noon at Four Corners Assembly of God Church in White Lake. Visitation will be from 10:00 until the service Thursday at the church.
