Luanne Esther Christenson, age 72 of Antigo, passed away Tuesday July 28, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Luanne was born on April 27, 1954 in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Doris (Richey) Kamin.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1972. She then enlisted in the US Army, serving for 4 years.
Luanne was married to the late Dale Edwards. The couple later divorced.
She was united in marriage to Don Christenson on January 1, 2000. Don preceded her in death on July 27, 2014.
Luanne tied flies for Mepps when her children were young. She then was employed at Plaspac for many years.
Her greatest treasures in life were the experiences she shared with her family and friends. She was known as “Grandma Lu” to many. She was the adult that would join the children in the fun whether riding the rides at the fair or playing on the playground at the park. She kept the freezer stocked with fudgsicles. Luanne enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren’s lives and watching them play sports. She liked visiting Northstar Casino with her dad, was a Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan and liked to watch game shows. She loved being outdoors and even trapped minnows.
Survivors include her children Michelle Edwards (Trever Unsinn) and Joshua Kamin both of Antigo, brothers Leslie Kamin (Lori Walters) of Antigo and Linn (Jennifer) Kamin of Aberdeen, SD, a sister Loreen Kamin of Merrill, grandchildren Jordan Unsinn ( Keara Stolzman) and their children Brehkan and Rhett, Jake( Mackenzie) Unsinn and their children Wrenly, Payton and Paige, Tate Unsinn, Kyle (Jess) Specht and their children Sophia, Ozzy and Vinny, Cameron Specht, Drew Specht (Bella Dorsch) and her best friend Pat Parker as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a memorial service at 6:00 PM. Reverend Marvin Kindle will officiate.
Military honors will be held at the funeral home following the service.
Luanne’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Antigo Fire Department EMS, the Aspirus Langlade Hospital Emergency Department staff and the doctors and nurses caring for Luanne at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Your compassion and care have been greatly appreciated.
