Lucille Benes

Lucille Benes, formerly of Bryant, passed away on November 7, 2021 at The Bay at Eastview at the age of 97. Lucille was born on August 6, 1924 in Kimberly, WI to the late Thomas and Ida (Bunnow) Holeton. On November 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Stanley Benes. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2017. Lucille lived most of her life in the Antigo area. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked alongside her husband Stanley at Merit Gear. She was a member at Calvary Lutheran Church. Lucille is survived by daughters, Trudy (Kevin) Bula of Antigo and Julie (Bill) Brandt of Antigo, sons, Gary (Pat) Benes of Lewiston, MT and Marty (Peggy) Benes of Antigo, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Frances Benes. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by a son Edwin and her 8 siblings. A funeral service for Lucille will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 5:30 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church with Vicar Jennifer Sosinski officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 2:30-5:30 PM. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
