Margaret I. Benson

Margaret I. Benson of Antigo died Sunday, November 10 at Langlade Hospital. She was 90 years old. She was born October 4, 1923 in Antigo, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Carlson) Belott. On April 10, 1943 she was united in marriage to Elmer Benson in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2001. Mrs. Benson was a homemaker. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoy embroidery, flower gardening, camping, family time and her grandchildren and great grand children. Survivors are her son, David (Julie) Benson, Bryant; three grandchildren Tanya Igl ( Shawn Zeinert ), Jeremy (Angela) Benson, Chris (Kaylee Hartleben) Benson and four great grandchildren, Tatum Igl, Jayden Zeinert, and Maleah and Liam Benson and another on the way; sisters, Wilma (Tony) Weber, Antigo and Mildred Ditmeyer, VA; sister-in-law, Marilyn Belott, Deerbrook; brother-in-law, Carl Thiede, Bryant. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marilyn Thiede; brothers, Vern and Dale Belott; and brother-in-law, Charles Ditmeyer. Funeral services will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home in Antigo, with the Rev. Dave Karolus and Rev. Donald Engebreton officiating. Interment will be at Bent Cemetery at noon on Wednesday in Bryant. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. at the Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in her name.
