Margaret May Kolpack

April 2, 1933 — October 26, 2024

Margaret Mae Kolpack, age 91, of Polar entered into her eternal home on Saturday, October 26, 2024 while residing at Care Partners in Antigo.

Margaret was born on April 2, 1933 in Antigo, a daughter of the late Martin William August and Marjorie Mae (Lambert) Dieck.

She attended Peace Lutheran Grade School.

On August 12, 1950 she was united in marriage to Norman Martin Kolpack at Peace Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Polar where they dairy farmed for many years.

Norman preceded her in death on June 30, 2014.

Margaret and Norman raised a large family filled with love, hard work, good times and faith. She was a gardener and enjoyed canning the harvest of her garden. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, sewing, crocheting, dancing and playing cards. Her greatest enjoyment was the time spent with her ever-growing family, especially at Christmas time.

Margaret was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar.

In addition to dairy farming, Margaret worked at Grandview Apple Orchard, drove school bus, served along with Norman as custodians at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, did grounds keeping for Town of Polar, and worked for Wirz Potatoes and Pavek’s Mink Farm.

Survivors include 4 daughters: Patsy (William) Walrath of Deerbrook, Ronda Lutzow of Polar, Mary Kay (Jack) Feak of Sagola, MI, Bonnie (Dave) Marckx of Palmetto, FL, 3 sons: Michael “Micky” (Jane) Kolpack of Polar, Martin “Marty” (Sandra) Kolpack of Polar, Tim (Dareth) Kolpack of Bryant, daughters-in- law Jenny Kolpack of Bryant and Audrey Messer of Delavan, 4 sisters: Mary Beimborn of Fond du Lac, Kathy Markland of Hartford, Connie (Pat) Norton of Asheville, NC, Gail (Tom) Zaverousky of Antigo, brothers: Roy Dieck of Antigo, Bill Dieck of Antigo, Tom (Mary) Dieck of Antigo, Roland “Pat” (Mary) Dieck of Wausau, Wayne (Barb) Dieck of Antigo, sisters-in-law Joannie Labbus of Antigo and Maxine Basley of Antigo and Rita and Phyllis Dieck of Antigo, a brother-in-law Reuben Kolpack of Birnamwood, 34 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a daughter Diane Kolpack, a son Rodney Kolpack, a special foster son William Messer, a grandson Jason Marckx, brothers: Gene, Norman, Larry and Robert Dieck, 2 sisters-in-law Darlene and Shirley Dieck, brothers-in-law: Robert Markland and John Biemborn.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at noon at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar with visitation from 10:00 AM until the service Wednesday at the Church. Reverend Donald Engebretson and Reverend Andrew Harris will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.

A memorial will be established in Margaret’s name.
