Marion Willard "Bill" Hunter, age 90, of Wausau and formerly of Antigo died Sunday at Our House Senior living in Wausau.Mr. Hunter was born February 16, 1921 in Antigo to the late Byron and Hazel (Brittenham) Hunter.He married Rita C. Patrick on February 14, 1942 in Detroit, MI. She survives and resides at Primrose Retirement Community in Wausau.Bill graduated from Antigo High School in 1938. He also attended the U-W extension in Antigo.He served in the US Army from October 2, 1942 until February of 1946. He was a member of the VFW.Prior to his military service, Bill worked as a security guard for the Hudson Motor Co. in Detroit, MI.Bill worked for Kraft Foods and was an independent grocer, owning Hunter's Grocery Store on Pine St. in Antigo.Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.Mr. Hunter is survived by 2 sons; Willard (Sharon) Hunter of Wausau and Dr. Merle Hunter of Holt, MI; a son-in-law Ed Albrecht of Madison, WI; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a daughter Peggy Albrecht and 2 sisters Kathryn Theilman and Ruth Kieper.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:30 until the service at the funeral home.Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Military rites will take place at the cemetery.
