Marjorie L. Mauk

Marjorie L. Mauk, a lifelong Antigo resident, died Friday, Nov. 21 at Wausau Hospital. She was 85 years old. She was born June 4, 1923, daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Wirth) Spurgeon. On April 11, 1943 she married Ottis Mauk in Portageville, MO. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Mauk graduated from Antigo High School in 1941, and worked as a receptionist at WATK radio. She was also employed at Montgomery Ward. She was a member of United Methodist Church, and the Langlade Hospital Auxiliary. Her hobbies included fishing, golfing, traveling, collecting antiques, and playing cards. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon (Leon) Combel of Plover, and Cynthia (Rodger) Zupon of Antigo; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Steven, Patrick, Christopher, and Kerri; special nephews, Bob Spurgeon of Washington State, and Dennis Horton of Antigo. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by son Thomas Mauk, brother Everett Spurgeon, and son in law Keith Dunn.
