Martha “Marti” Ann Preboski, age 72 of Antigo, passed away at her home under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
Martha was born on April 24, 1950 in Antigo to the late Charles and Barbara (Harteau) Parise.
Marti attended Elcho High School. Her family moved to Antigo and she graduated from Antigo High School in 1968. Following graduation, she attended UW Stevens Point taking courses in childcare and psychology.
On November 25, 1967, Marti was united in marriage to Dennis Joseph Preboski at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Antigo Wisconsin.
Marti was a former member First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She had a strong faith that she lived by daily and it carried her though many health trials.
Marti was a sought-after daycare provider for decades. She had a strong passion for the children, providing an atmosphere of fun, craft making, baking, cooking and love. She formed lifelong relationships with the children and their families.
Her own family was a deeply loved by her. She truly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Baseball games, Football, hockey basketball games, drama events, and music concerts that the children were involved in became an enjoyable pastime.
Marti had a passion and talent for decorating her home and generously shared that talent with friends. She was a pioneer of the “DIY” era. She thought it and Dennis assisted in the making of it.
Her life was also blessed with dear friends. Trips to Europe and Aruba were destinations enjoyed by her along with Delores Kohler, Sue Marczak, and Jan Kamke. Her dear friend, Shar Stewart was her partner in crime. They shared many memorable moments and laughs.
Marti will always be remembered as having a loving and generous heart, remembering special dates of those she loved, and living a faith filled life.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Dennis, include her daughter Jamie (Steve) Kirsch of Antigo, grandchildren: Britany (Nathan) Bollhorst of Cottage Grove, Blake, Hunter, and AJ Kirsch of Antigo, great grandchildren: Lorelei and Hugo of Cottage Grove, a sister Michelle “Shelly” (Victor Armstong) Chavoya of Dallas, TX, brothers: Chuck (Wendy) Parise of Santa Monica, CA, Greg (Kay) Parise of Antigo, a sister-in-law Pam Parise of St. Augustine, FL, and a dear aunt Judy (Jim) Jagdfeld of Howell, MI.
Marti was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Larry and Todd Parise.
In accordance with her wishes a private celebration of her life with family will be held.
