Mary L. Rusch

Mary L. Rusch, age 76, of Pickerel passed away January 2, 2022 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. Mary was born November 11, 1945 in Antigo to the late Bill and Dorothy “Dutch” (Volm) Nelson. Mary attended Antigo High School. She loved horseback riding, downhill skiing, and just enjoyed life. She worked hard all her life from bartender to Chicago Northwestern Railroad to Plaspack, before meeting the wonderful man she would eventually marry, David Rusch. The couple married on April 3, 2012 after many years together and in the winter of 1994-95 they bought The Break Away Bar in Pickerel. Survivors include her daughter Michelle and Bill Cable of Pickerel and her children, Keara Stolzman and her son Brehkan, son Jordan and Tiffany Stolzman their children; Brilynn, Reagan, and Miles and Brandi Fleischman and her son Parker all of Antigo, a son Joe and Kathy Nelson of Pearson and their children Ashley and Daniel Wicke of Witterberg and their children Hunter and Guage, Josh and Claire Ann Nelson of Florida, Jenny Meister of Wittenberg and Holly Van Price of Green Bay, and a brother Dan Nelson of Antigo. She will be deeply missed by her feline friend Bat Kat. A celebration of Mary’s life will be Saturday January 15 at 1:00 - ? at Breakaway Bar in Pickerel WI. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
