Mary Margaret "Mag" Kjome, age 67, of Post Lake died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the home of her daughter under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. Mag was born on July 1, 1951 in Manitowoc, WI, a daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Lynett) Henricks. On August 19, 1972, she was united in marriage to Dr. Richard Kjome at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antigo. Mag was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1969. She went on to graduate from UW- LaCrosse in 1973 with a degree in medical technology. Mag worked for Aspirus for 18 years at the Aspirus General Clinic most recently for Aspirus Elcho Clinic as a medical technician. She was very dedicated to education in the Antigo community, serving as the president of the St. John Catholic School Board and serving on the Citizens Advisory Committee promoting the construction of the present Antigo High School. Mag and Rick enjoyed residing at Post Lake since 2000 and treasured the time spent together traveling with family and friends. Survivors in addition to her husband Rick include a son Nels (Sara) Kjome of Janesville, daughter Greta (Calvin) Diercks of Antigo, grandchildren; Evelyn Kjome, Edward "Eddie" Diercks, Richard "Ricky" Diercks, a sister Elizabeth "Beth" (Larry) Hoerman of Antigo, sister-in-laws; Jane Henricks of West Salem, Kathy (Yogi) LaHam and Peggy Kjome; brother-in-laws; Gary Kjome and David (Lisa) Kjome, nieces and nephews; Steve (Michele) Turney, Erin (Mike) Baginski, Gretchen (John) Cassidy, Heidi (Steven) Vanden Herik, Anna (Kelly) Henricks, Ryan (Kimberly) Henricks, Michael (Julie) LaHam, Heather (Jon) Stillwell, Ashley (James) Zik, Abby Kjome and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mag was preceded in death by a granddaughter Helena Kjome and her brother John Henricks. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday at St. John Catholic Church. Reverend Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the service in Hoffmann Hall at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mag's name may be directed to All Saints Catholic School. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services.
