Mathew Zelinski, former resident of Antigo and Summit Lake, died Saturday, April 26 at Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home in Panama City, Florida. He was 90 years old. He was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Pearson, son of the late John and Lima (Culver) Zelinski. He married Joye Page on May 29, 1948. She preceded Mr. Zelinski in death. He served in the US Navy from 1943-1946, and was stationed on the USS Enterprise. Mr. Zelinski worked as a heavy equipment operator for Krueger and Steinfest until his retirement. Survivors include2 daughters, Donna (Robert) Nagel of Panama City, FL and Diane Zelinski of Seattle, WA; 2 sons, Daniel (Diane) Zelinski of Antigo and David Zelinski of San Antonio, TX; a sister, Beverly (Leo) Bera of Mayking; and 3 grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Deborah and Denise; a sister, Frances; and 2 brothers, John and William "Bill". A funeral service will take place at noon on Saturday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Fr. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Bent Cemetery.
