Michael Bernard Curran, 76, passed away on January 7, 2023 in Weston, Florida.
Mike was born on March 3, 1946 in Antigo, Wisconsin to the late Dr. William Patrick Curran and Grace (Brennan) Curran. He married Cher Joyce on May 21, 2011 in Davie, Florida.
Mike began his education at St. John Catholic School and was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1964, where he lettered in football, basketball, and track. He set the school record for career points in basketball with 911. He went on to attend Marquette University where he followed in his father's footsteps by playing basketball for the team formerly known as the Warriors. Mike had a long career starting with Xerox and eventually founding his own company. He was an excellent public speaker and was a Republican nominee for the Florida House of Representatives in 1982.
In his later years, Mike enjoyed spending time with Cher and their family, golfing, getting to know passengers while driving Uber, volunteering at the Cleveland Clinic, and visiting friends and family at Bass Lake where he held the country club’s lowest score record for years. Mike was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and traveled from Florida to Lambeau Field for many games.
He is survived by his wife Cher Curran; his son Steve (Dawn) Curran of Richmond Hill, GA; three daughters, Erin Curran of Savannah, GA, Shannon (John) Black of Snellville, GA, and Mackenzie (Aaron) Webel of Columbia, MO; his stepson Scott Black of Weston, FL; his stepdaughter Tina (Brian) Smith of Parkland, FL; his brother William "Bucko" (Donna) Curran of San Diego, CA; three sisters, Peg Curran of Fort Collins, CO, Kate (Jim) Rebholz of Bass Lake, WI, and Mary (Dick) Hilger of Bass Lake, WI; 11 grandchildren; and many loving cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Jayne.
A memorial mass will be held this June 21st at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of service.
