Michael K. Zelazoski

March 12, 1952 — September 17, 2023

Michael K. Zelazoski passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023 at Asprius Wausau Hospital, following a short but fierce battle with cancer.

Mike was born in Antigo on March 12, 1952 to the late Clarence and Elsie Mae (Russ) Zelazoski. On May 26, 1984, he was united in marriage to Jayne VandeHey at St. John Catholic Church.

Mike graduated from Antigo High School and went on to become a certified electrician at North Central Technical College. This was only the beginning of the many trades Mike would become successful in.

Mike went on to dedicate his career to the family business, Zelazoski Wood Products. He began at the company at the age of 14 and was a part of the 3rd generation of the Zelazoski family to work there. While his official title at the company was president, he was known to all as Mr. Fix It.

Mike was a true family man. He was always the first call from any family member and was always there to help them with a project or find a solution. He was active in Antigo Hockey and loved to attend Packer games. He enjoyed a relaxing day in the pool or a day at Crystal Lake with family. Mike felt as though he never worked a day in his life as he treasured both the time spent at the shop and the time making memories with family and laughing with grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by children Kristy (Jon) Tollette of Ramsey, MN, Jeff (Kelsey) Zelazoski of Jackson, WY, Brett (Corie) Zelazoski of Antigo and Andy (Laura) Zelazoski of Antigo, grandchildren Sam Tollette, Nate Tollette, Brian Jon Raichert, Anna Tollette, Ella Zelazoski, Olivia Zelazoski, and Brooks Zelazoski, siblings Jim Zelazoski of Antigo, Bill (Donna) Zelazoski of Green Bay, Ben (Carrie) Zelazoski of Antigo, Charlie (Rita) Zelazoski of Antigo, and Sue (Mike) Werdeo of Antigo. He is further survived by his former spouse Julie (Bill) Brandt of Antigo, dear friends Pete and Gina, Mark, Rick, Rustick, Tom, and Scotty, and many nieces, nephews, members of the VandeHey family and all the past and present employees at Zelazoski Wood Products.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ed and Maggie VandeHey, brother-in-law Dennis VandeHey, and sister-in-law Mary Zelazoski.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.

Memorials in Mike’s name can be directed to the Antigo Area Youth Hockey, All Saints Catholic School, or Children’s Hospital of Minnesota.
