Rev. Monroe "Ervin" Messer died peacefully at home on March 21, 2023 under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 71 years old.
Ervin was born on December 15, 1951 in Antigo to the late James and late Florence (Maddix) Messer. Ervin graduated from Kenosha Tremper High School. On June 16, 1990, he was united in marriage to Ardith Mae Robinson. She survives.
Ervin enjoyed being on the road and worked as a truck driver. He also worked in construction. He devoted his life to ministry. In 2000 he founded and pastored New Life Central Fellowship, now known as Christ Central.
Music was one of Ervin's greatest passions. He shared his talent for music by playing in bands and founding the recording studio, CFI Monroe Recordings. He also enjoyed riding motorcycle. He began the Central Wisconsin chapter of Christian Motorcyclists Association.
In addition to his wife, Ervin is survived by children, Kathleen Boron of Antigo and Eric Messer of Milwaukee, step children, Meredith (David) Schumitsch of Merrill, Richard (Michelle) Shepherd of Weston, and Elizabeth Anderson of Antigo, sister, Carol Messer of Antigo, grandchildren, Jenelle (John) Richmond, Melissa Boron, Richard Boron, Marcus Messer, Mikayla Messer, Madisyn Messer, step grandchildren, Catherin and Andrew Schumitsch, Olivia, Ethan, Caleb, and Meghan Shepherd, Aaron and Jacqueline Anderson, and many great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, Richard Scott Messer and Rev. Michael (Julaine) Messer, and sister-in-law Renee Messer.
In addition to his parents, Ervin was preceded in death by infant brother James (Jimmy) Messer, brother Marvin Messer, and sister Delores Crady.
A funeral service for Ervin will be held on Saturday, April 8th, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Christ Central Church. Rev Marvin Kindle and Rev. Danny Pyeatt presiding. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
