Naomi Ruth (Schoessow) Engelmann was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 25, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family and under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.
Naomi was born on May 11, 1943 in Forestville, WI, to Nobert & Ruth (Kunze) Schoessow.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. On August 13, 1966 she married Robert Dennis Engelmann in Wausau, WI. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2005.
Naomi was an avid reader. She loved her family immensely and was a friend to everyone she met. Her children and grandchildren brought her a lot of joy in life. She also was an important part in the lives of her nieces & nephews. She will be greatly missed by family, friends & her cats. One of Naomi's hobbies was winning cribbage games (most of the time) against anyone who was brave enough to play her.
Survivors include her four children: Ruth (Jason) LaRose, Wylie, TX; Sara (Jeffery) King, Antigo; Adam (Annette) Engelmann, Cottage Grove, MN; & Jesse (Michael) Helland, Antigo. Also eleven grandchildren: Nathaniel, Leanna, Samuel & Melaina LaRose; Danielle, Zachery (Samantha), Emily & Judiah King; and Anika & Audrey Engelmann. And two Step-Grandchildren: Amanda (Jason) Roth & Savanah (Michael) Brandt.
She is also survived by five siblings: George (Candi) Schoessow, Edward Schoessow, Mark Schoessow, Kim (Susan) Schoessow and Renee (George) Brendemuehl.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson, Justin.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Renee Brendemuehl & Emily King for taking care of Naomi over the past decade. We also appreciate the help of LeRoyer Hospice in Naomi's last few days.
