Nellie D. Flak, "Servant of the Lord," died Friday, Nov. 21 at Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and her family. She was a lifelong resident of the Elton area. She was born Nov. 5, 1919 at home on Fraley Road in the Elton/Four Corners area of Langlade County. Her parents, Richard Robert Morgan and Martha (Bloomfield) preceded her in death. She married Stanley P. Flak on Sept. 18, 1937 in Crystal Falls, MI. He died Dec. 3, 1987. Mrs. Flak was a homemaker and worked on the family farm in Elton. She also worked as a nursing assistant at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. A pillar of Christ Gospel Church, Mrs. Flak taught Sunday School and was active in Bible Study. She also produced and sang on an album of Gospel music with her sister. Mrs. Flak kept her mind sharp with games, puzzles, Parcheesi, Rummikub, and Sudoku. She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Lee (Donald) Helm of Elton, Judith Ann Flak and great grandson Danny of Elton, Debra Jean (Mike) Waters of Elton; a son, Robert Richard (Darla) of Dewey, AZ; a sister, Gladys Eldridge of Evansville, IN; a brother, Ray (Mary) Morgan of Little Chute. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, who knew her as "G.G." In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by 4 sisters, Beulah Tackett, Rosie Larzalere, Ellen Ferdin, Minnie Morgan; and 3 brothers, Robert, Irvin, and Vernon Morgan. The family extends a warm thank you to LeRoyer Hospice and the nurses who cared for Nellie.
