Noah E. Simonis

August 12, 1996 — March 18, 2013

Noah Earl Simonis, age 16, died at his home in the town of Rolling on Monday, March 18, 2013. He was a young man who loved life and could always put a smile on the faces of his family and friends. He was born August 12, 1996 in Kaukauna, son of Perry and Wendy (Whitford) Simonis. He was a sophomore at Antigo High School, where he was a hard-working student who achieved high honors for his grades. He previously attended Holy Cross Catholic School in Kaukauna and Antigo Middle School. Noah was an athlete, participating in football, basketball, baseball, and track. After sporting events, Noah loved having friends and teammates gather at the Simonis home. He was a certified lifeguard, and looked forward to working at the Clara McKenna Aquatic Center. He was employed at Paul Monk's ginseng farm, where he enjoyed working hard and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and friends. They will treasure the time with him hunting, fishing, tapping trees and making syrup, and just being together. From an early age, Noah was a ketchup lover and he put it on almost everything he ate. He enjoyed his animals, building things, and being in the country. He attended St. John Catholic Church. Survivors include his parents, Perry and Wendy Simonis of the Antigo area; sister Kira, and brother Derick, who reside at home; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Judy Whitford of Dodgeville; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Simonis of Rosholt; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Fritz Simonis. A funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo, with Fr. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with wake service and rosary at 8:00 P.M. A second visitation will take place from 9:30-10:45 A.M. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Friends have established a memorial in Noah's name at CoVantage Credit Union, 723 6th Avenue Antigo, WI 54409.
