Noah Lewis, age 86, of Antigo died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his home. He was born February 15, 1933 in Langlade, son of the late Tom Lewis and Beulah (Morgan) Gruenberg Tackett. He married Carole Robinson in March 19, 1954 and she survives. Mr. Lewis was a Teamster, driving Redi-Mix concrete trucks in Chicagoland for 30 years while residing in Waukegan. After his retirement he returned to Langlade County. He went back to school after retirement and obtained his GED through Northcentral Technical College. He was a wonderful dad and could make everyone laugh with his joking and terrific sense of humor. He was a Chicago Bears fan, and loved visiting with friends and family. He also enjoyed driving and traveling, especially to visit his grandchildren. Mr. Lewis was a licensed lay minister and was known for spreading the word of God everywhere he went. He especially loved nursing home ministry and playing music for the residents. While he lived in Illinois, he was committed to jail ministry in Lake County. Survivors include his wife, Carole Lewis; a daughter, Rhonda (Danny) Yazell; a son, Larry Lewis; 5 grandchildren, David Cox, Theresa Zarate, Larry (Angela) Lewis, Danny Yazell, and Ryan Lewis; 5 great grandchildren, Sage, Kirah, Noah, Olivya, and Jennifer; 4 great-great grandchildren, Adriana, Mia, Anthony, and Mason; a sister, Geneva (Carl) Messer, and a brother, Harold Lewis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Gruenberg; father, Tom Lewis; stepfather, Henry Gruenberg; 3 sisters, Rosella Messer, Armella Messer, and Marcella Schalli; 4 brothers, Velvo, Bill, Cleo, and Larry Lewis. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Danny Pyeatt of Christ Central Church officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 – 1:00 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Bent Cemetery in the spring.
