Olive M. "Kathy" Shepherd

Olive M. "Kathy" Shepherd, former White Lake resident, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Amery, Wisconsin. She was born Aug. 8, 1938 in Cook County, Illinois, daughter of the late Henry J. and Frances M. (Hyble) Daneault. She married Charles Kenneth Shepherd on Sept. 8, 1956 in Antigo, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1997. Mrs. Shepherd attended Aniwa Grade School, and graduated from Antigo High School. She was a homemaker and mother. She also worked at the Polar Mill, Langlade Memorial Hospital, and various restaurants. She was a longtime member of Four Corners Assembly of God Church, where she was active in many aspects of church life. She oversaw the senior citizens group, taught Sunday school, belonged to the Women's Ministries group, and ran the church nursery. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, ceramics, and many of the activities at Park View Manor. Survivors include 3 daughters, Kathleen Shepherd of Minneapolis, MN, Maryann Pranke (Prosper) of Amery, Tammy (Francis) Backhaus of Green Bay; 3 sons, Kenneth Shepherd of Oshkosh, Raymond (Michelle) Shepherd of Clintonville, and Keith (Spring) Shepherd of White Lake; 22 grandchildren, Sondra, Kesha, Shantelle, Milo, Austin, Montana, Desiree, Dakota, Danny, Melanie, Jonas, Maegan, Jessica, Dustin, Brandon, Jordan, Ethan, Janel, Stephen, Shawn, Stephanie, and Samuel; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Shepherd. Funeral services are scheduled for noon on Monday, April 14 at Four Corners Assembly of God Church in White Lake, with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Sherry Cemetery on a later date. A memorial will be established in her name.
