Orville C. Huebner

Orville C. Huebner, formerly of Antigo, died Monday, April 13 at the Homme Home in Wittenberg. He was 96 years old.He was born March 16, 1913, the son of the late George and Lulu (Beulow) Huebner. On Sept. 27, 1935, he married Emogene (Smith). She survives. Mr. Huebner graduated from Clintonville High School in 1932, and began dairy farming in the Town of Hutchins in Shawano County in 1936. He retired from farming in 1991. He also served as vice chairman and chairman of the ASCS committee in Shawano County for 11 years.He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mattoon, where he served as Trustee and Elder. Mr. Huebner was the first president of the FFA farm school program at Clintonville High School. He held the position of Secretary Treasurer of Clintonville Modern Woodmen. He enjoyed riding horses, and especially loved to go out dancing Saturday nights. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Emogene, include a daughter, Joan Brown of Phoenix, AZ; 2 sons, Clark (Karen) of Antigo, Gene (Tamara Kowalski) of Antigo; a brother, Floyd of Casa Grande, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Wayne Huebner of Antigo, Todd (Charlotte Horrell) Huebner of Antigo, and Craig (Tina) Brown of Phoenix, AZ; and 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan Huebner of Antigo, Tory Huebner of Antigo, Nathan Huebner of Antigo, and Tyler Brown of Phoenix, AZ; brother in law, Marty O'Brien of CA, and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Jeanette Paul, Ethel Thorpe, and LaVerne O'Brien; and a son in law, Edwin Brown.
